Putin has before now declared preparedness to strike the centre of Kyiv with a hypersonic ballistic missile should Ukraine continue to attack Russian territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Putin\u2019s threat came as Russia said it made fresh gains on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of Defence said on Telegram that its troops had \u201cliberated\u201d the villages of Lozova in the northeastern Kharkiv region and Krasnoye \u2013 called Sontsivka in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latter is near the resource centre in Kurakhove which the Russians have virtually surrounded and thus the capture of which would be a major prize for Moscow in its bid to fully seize the Donetsk Oblast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last months, Russia has intensified its aggression in the east of Ukraine, seeing as many regions as it could conquer before the American President-elect Donald Trump comes to power in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Republican has declared readiness to end the near three-year long conflict immediately, while he has not thought it necessary to lay down any terms of cessation of hostilities or a peace agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moscow\u2019s army has said it has taken control of over 190 Ukrainian territories in 2022, and while Kyiv is fighting bravely<\/a>, it lacks the personnel and shells it needs to defend all the areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
