Yet another Taylor Sheridan co-created series is being renewed for a new season again today. It’s official: the Paramount+ crime drama is getting around to renewing Mayor of Kingstown for fourth season.
The news has come several months after the third season finished airing at the end of summer, and only then viewers were getting all the unanswered questions which concerned the fate of this show.
Featuring Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, it has garnered an audience approval rating over the course of the series’ last few episodes and remains the most-watched on the platform each year.
Mayor of Kingstown season 3 also noted that the brilliant actor had to come back as Mike McLusky after a such a terrible accident in the snow plow back in November 2023.
One sees power in his work, especially the third work of art, which must have taken the actor great effort to produce. During the previous episodes, viewers have seen how Mike and his people faced their most dangerous nemesis yet – a Russian mob who considered the city their turf.
Now drugs were being peddled through the streets and through the local prison, Mike had a busy time on his hands. Most of that drama concluded and tied up by the time the credits rolled on the season finale it’s still unclear where things will progress in Season 4 though, there is certainly much more action and crime on the horizon for the characters involved.
This leaves all indications of renewal for Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 since late October where it was unveiled that MTV Entertainment Studios writer executive producer/ showrunner David Erickson reu-upped his deal. We also discover that the writers’ room for Season 4 came back another indication that a renewal was imminent.
Since Yellowstone has completed it shooting officially, Sheridan, who is the creator of the series, is now preparing for his nap time – wait a minute! Sheridan must be a happy man as Mayor of Kingstown is set to return for Season 4, meaning that the production that he co-developed with Hugh Dillon will continue for at least a little while longer.
Besides this, the Yellowstone universe creator has many other projects on the sickle; the second season of Lioness recently came to an end, and a new show by Taylor, Landman, is on the top of viewership charts.
To date, there is no word on when Season 4 of Mayor of Kingstown would air, but users can expect updates from Collider. Meanwhile, visit Paramount+ to watch seasons 1 through three.
