Putin expressed the opinion when, on Sunday, he was speaking to the head of Tatarstan by a videoconference on the occasion of a road opening.
“Whoever and however much they try to destroy, they will face many times more destruction themselves and will regret what they are trying to do in our country,” Putin said.
Six UAVs targeted civilian infrastructure, housing, in Kazan on Saturday morning, while the seventh UAV targeted an industrial object. Some official report no casualties from the attack while the media report that three persons sustained cuts from broken glass.

Kazan is over 1000 km, or 600 miles, away from the border with Ukraine. It is widely regarded as a reaction to a Russian missile attack on Kyiv although Ukraine itself has not officially admitted carrying out the attack.
Putin has before now declared preparedness to strike the centre of Kyiv with a hypersonic ballistic missile should Ukraine continue to attack Russian territory.
Putin’s threat came as Russia said it made fresh gains on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defence said on Telegram that its troops had “liberated” the villages of Lozova in the northeastern Kharkiv region and Krasnoye – called Sontsivka in Ukraine.
The latter is near the resource centre in Kurakhove which the Russians have virtually surrounded and thus the capture of which would be a major prize for Moscow in its bid to fully seize the Donetsk Oblast.
In the last months, Russia has intensified its aggression in the east of Ukraine, seeing as many regions as it could conquer before the American President-elect Donald Trump comes to power in January.
The Republican has declared readiness to end the near three-year long conflict immediately, while he has not thought it necessary to lay down any terms of cessation of hostilities or a peace agreement.
Moscow’s army has said it has taken control of over 190 Ukrainian territories in 2022, and while Kyiv is fighting bravely, it lacks the personnel and shells it needs to defend all the areas.
